La maison d’hôtes Ivy dans le village de Palkonya est une construction de style purement local. Elle a été restaurée dans l’esprit de l’héritage architectural du village qui remonte au 18ème siècle. Nous avons utilisé uniquement des matériaux de construction de grande qualité. La maison a été refaite dans un goût très délicat et  répond aux exigences les plus élevées. Elle comporte 4 chambres avec douche, cuisine, terrasse, grand jardin et même sa propre cave à vin. Pour le plaisir des enfants nous disposons d’un terrain de jeux à côté de notre jardin. La maison convient surtout pour des groupes jusqu’à 16 personnes. Nous organisons des dîners avec dégustations de vin dans les caves des viticulteurs  de Palkonya, de Villany ou de Siklos. Ivy Guesthouse in South-Western Hungary, in Palkonya village is 5 bedroomed protected, monument styled country cottage with garden pool. It suites families with children, groups up until 19 people. It was developed with respect for the architectural heritage of the village from the 18th century. We used only the highest quality material. The house  corresponds to the most delicate taste, fills every requirement. It has 5 bedrooms, 4 showers/wc, huge kitchen, terrace, big fenced, green garden, and even an own wine cellar. A beautiful brick and wooden fence gives to the house a very special intimate atmosphere. The furniture is very carefully selected, the old ones are from the famous sunday antique fair from Pécs (20 km), the new ones are very comfortable beds with bio mattresses. For children's delight we have baby facilities, children furniture, and a wooden toyed playground next to our garden. The house is suitable primarily for families and groups from 8 up to 19 people. Homemade breakfast, milk, honey and other products form the village, local food, including even a whole roast pig! or other cuisines can be delivered to the house. Palkonya is the most charming village of a famous hungarian redwine making area,the Siklós Villány Wine Route. Not only the wines are the main draw here, the village has an especially beautiful panoramic landscape, walking routes and the international "3 Rivers" bikeroute goes through it, passing Danube-Mura-Drava rivers. Danube-Drava National Park has also a lot to do with guided walking-, wildlife watching-, ship-, canoe- tours. Harkány thermal spa - open all year - with wellness facilities is also around. Palkonya has 3 fishing lakes, and the cultural life - of course centered around wine - is also exceptional. Palkonya, a village of one street and 370 inhabitants in Southern-Baranya county has maintained the architectural heritage of the German vintners settled to this region in the 18th century.  The most notable architectural landmark of the village is the row of wine cellars consisting of 53 press houses on the hill at the end of the village.  These press houses have been built gradually over the golden age of winemaking and grape growing at the beginning of the 19th century. Their whitewashed facades are still a gripping site today.  More and more tourists of the Siklós-Villány Wine Route enjoy visiting these cellars full of blazing red wines and vintners’ hospitality.  The village’s children and those traveling through have great fun in Palkonya’s wooden playground, an outstanding work of art by folk woodcarvers.  Those who are here for fishing or hiking will find refreshment in the quite surroundings and the rich bird varieties of the nearby fishery lakes.  The most frequented event in Palkonya is the “Open Cellars of Pentecost", put together yearly on Pentecost Sunday by the villagers and the Village Council.   On these occasions Palkonya welcomes guests for various cultural events, children’s’ activities, horse drawn carriages, bacon roasting, and naturelly, wine tasting.
